CONVERSION KIT
The American Heart Association (AHA) standards for CPR were
set at a flow rate of 160 LPM. It was determined in 1986
that these high flow rates can cause inappropriately elevated
pharyngeal pressures which may result in gastric inflation
when used on a victim with an unprotected airway. The new
standards are now recommending that a constant flow rate from
these devices be maintained at 40 LPM. Older models can be
converted to meet these recommendations of the AHA with the LSP
40 LPM Conversion Kit.
